The child with multiple disabilities
Children with multiple disabilities associated with severe neurological conditions present a range of comorbidities that have a direct bearing on their care and management in first line paediatrics. In this presentation we will define this complex population, explore the impact of multiple disabilities in children on healthcare needs, and cover in detail the highly prevalent issues of discomfort and pain, digestive and respiratory comorbidities, feeding difficulties and bone health in these children. After attending this lecture participants should be able to approach these children more confidently.
